Feather Bristol
Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 September 2026.
This page explains what information Feather collects when you book a table or otherwise use this site, what we do with it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. It applies to this website and to the booking system embedded on the Book a table page.
The short version
We collect the name, email, phone number, and booking details you give us to hold a table. We use that to run your reservation and, in aggregate, to understand things like booking frequency and our regulars. We do not sell your information. Card payments go straight to Stripe — we never see or store your card details. Once a booking is done with (you cancelled ahead of time, or the visit has passed and the backlog is cleared) your personal details are deleted; what's left is anonymised or aggregate. The one exception is if you've been blacklisted — see below.
Information we collect
When you make a booking, we collect:
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- Booking details — date, time, party size, seating area and any notes you leave us (allergies, occasions, that kind of thing).
- Basic technical information (like your browser and general location) that any website picks up, mainly for keeping the site and the booking system working properly.
We do not collect or store your card number, expiry date or CVC. Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe's own checkout and never pass through our systems — see Payments below.
Why we collect it
Mainly to hold and honour your table booking, and to contact you if something about it changes. We also look at booking data in aggregate — how often we're full, our busiest nights, who our most regular guests are — to run the restaurant better. We don't use your information for anything beyond that, and we don't sell it to anyone.
How your information is used
- To run your booking. Staff may use your name, email and phone number to contact you about a reservation — confirming it, changing it, or following up if we couldn't reach you and you haven't shown up.
- For restaurant analytics. We keep aggregate statistics on booking frequency and our top customers. This is used internally to understand our business — it is never sold or shared with anyone outside Feather.
Payments — Stripe
Card payments and pre-authorisations are handled entirely by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Your card details are sent directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle that data.
Email — Resend
Booking confirmations and other transactional emails are sent through Resend, a third-party email delivery service. Resend processes your email address and the content of the email solely to deliver it.
Hosting — Render
This website and the booking system are hosted on Render, a third-party infrastructure provider. Booking data passes through and is stored on Render's infrastructure while it's in use.
How long we keep your data
We keep your booking information for as long as it's needed to deliver your booking, and not much longer:
- If you cancel ahead of time, your details are removed from our system.
- Otherwise, the backlog of past bookings is cleared out regularly. Your personal details (name, email, phone number) do not sit in our system indefinitely.
- What remains after that clear-out is not your personal data as such — it's folded into the aggregate analytics we keep on booking frequency and top customers, described above.
If you've been blacklisted
In the small number of cases where someone is blacklisted — for example, repeated no-shows or abusive behaviour towards staff — we keep the minimum information needed to recognise that person and decline future bookings from them. That information is used for that purpose only. It is never used for marketing, sold, or shared outside Feather.
Analytics
We keep internal statistics on booking frequency and our most frequent guests, built from booking data. This helps us run the restaurant — staffing, stock, that sort of thing. It stays inside Feather and is never sold to a third party.
A note on artificial intelligence
AI agents were used to help build the booking system and this website. To our knowledge, everything shown on this site is accurate and the booking system has been thoroughly tested — but both AI and humans are imperfect, and it's possible an error has slipped through unnoticed. We're dedicated to a seamless experience, and we promise to fix anything that comes up as quickly as we can. If you spot something wrong, please let us know.
Cookies
This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. The booking widget on the Book a table page is embedded from our booking system and may set cookies needed to keep your booking session working — these are functional, not tracking.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Get in touch at hello@featherbristol.co.uk and we'll sort it out.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
